A local minister once told me that I had a flat, funny-looking face, like I had run into a wall. And then he told me I should be proud of who I was. His daughter, whom I considered a friend, called me a chink on more than one occasion.
And then, today, we all got to experience this:

Does that make it all better? For me, for now, yes.
(Though if I ever run into Rev. Sollenberger again, I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind.)

A wise man once said, "knee him in the groin."
When I was in New Zealand, talking to an old Maori man, he told me that Obama becoming president in the US meant that every Maori child now growing up would have the hope that he or she could be prime minister. Yes we can.
Oh, and what Adam said about the old preacher....:-)
