Getting to Iowa

After TWENTY hours of traveling and several cancelled flights, we finally arrived in Iowa City at 2:00 this morning. Oy friggin' veh. We somehow managed to get through a 10:00 am school show.

We finally had our first real meal today at lunch, at a place nearby called Mondo's. I had a giant salad. Mesclun greens, shoyu vinaigrette, sesame-crusted chicken. It was good.

Then, after a lovely nap, Trish and I walked to a boba/coffee shop and had a delightful, not-too-sweet frozen mocha.

In the evening, we had a short performance at a donors' dinner. Afterwards, we got to mingle & pig out at the dessert buffet: mini-tarts, chocolate-covered strawberries, and assorted truffles from a local chocolate maker. Of course, I'm too stupid-tired to remember the name of the chocolatier. Sigh.

Going to bed...
